With two months left in 2016, there are a few crucial things that I’m working on to help me start a new chapter in 2017. It gets challenging at time trying to balance corporate and entrepreneurship work, social life demands and personal relationships, but i’m realizing that cutting back on some things give more room to focus on a projects that will not only benefit me, but also those close to me. People who really what to see you succeed will understand and those who don’t just let them go.
I’m an huge fan of Myliek Teele (CEO of Curlbox) and as I was writing my do list in my journal a few days ago, something lead to re-read her personal notes in the beginning of it. As I read, the section titled ‘What Season are You In?’ drew me in. She touched on these four seasons in life that everyone can find themselves in:
Complacent – The season where you are passively going through life. Going through the motions with no end vision or goal.
Sowing – The season where you are putting in work tirelessly.
Reaping – The season where you finally see all you handwork and effort pay off.
Contentment – The season where you can look around you with everything happening in your life (good, bad and ugly) and just be OK with it. In this season you have already achieved all or most of your goals.
I feel like I’m in a season of sowing at this moment and working daily to cultivate habits that help me a better person in my personal and business relationships. It’s been challenging and I’ve been learning so much about myself, good and bad, lol. I’ll share in a later post ways that have helped my stay disciplined and focused during this sowing season. I’m not sure how long I will be in a sowing season, although I’m in it for as long as it takes for my dreams to come true. Might I add, it’s also important to keep people around that have your best interest at heart. It makes the journey just a bit easier.
What season do you feel you’re in?
