One of the things we all tend to worry about the most is the future.
The future can be scary because it’s unknown – you never know what will happen and there are endless things that could occur. Most of us have a plan for the future or an idea of what we hope it will look like and that’s okay. One of my favorite quotes is, “Man proposes, God disposes.”
Over the years, I’ve learned the importance of learning to embrace change the unknown because God is in control. Here are a few biblical reasons not to stress about the future anymore:
- God has not given us a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7
- It’s not here yet. Philippians 4:6-7
- God is working it out. Romans 8:28
- Stressing out won’t change the outcome. Matthew 6:27
- God’s love is available to strengthen us in time of trouble. Psalm 6:2-4
