Believe it or not, your energy levels play a major role in many aspects of your life and those around you. Protecting and preserving your energy is extremely crucial to your physical and mental health because it is the ultimate determinant and impacts your overall happiness. If we give too much of ourselves away, at work, to strangers, to our friends, or our loved ones, we will be left drained and unable to be the best versions of ourselves. We need to recognize that our needs are just as important as everyone else’s and that’s why I’m sharing 5 simple ways you can protect your energy!
- Reply to text messages at your convenience (not the earliest convenience for others)
- Speak to yourself kindly while dealing with uncomfortable or difficult feelings
- Choose your battles wisely (everything is not of equal importance)
4. Take time to yourself to relax, restore and reflect regularly
5. Try waking up early to round yourself with a routine or to just be present/still before your day starts
