6 WAYS TO BUILD A NEW HABIT

We are halfway through March and I still have so many things I want to accomplish and habits I want to develop before the new year. I never want to overwhelm myself when I’m trying to learn a new skill, start a new project, or incorporate a new habit into my lifestyle. I’ve learned that it’s always best to break things down into smaller tasks to keep the momentum going.

 

Here are 6 actions that have helped me stay consistent with a new habit:

  1. Focus on what I need/want to change
  2. Make a schedule using a physical planner or your phone
  3. Set daily reminders to alert you when it’s time to take action and manage your time
  4. Find an accountability partner
  5. Set yourself up to win by preparing in advance (i.e. meal prep or sleep with gym clothes so you don’t have to get dressed in the morning)
  6. Stay consistent with your new schedule for at least 21 days
