5 WAYS TO SAVE MONEY AS A COUPLE

As you guys know, I got engaged last year and I’m currently planning a wedding with my fiance Tunji. I would say that we “officially” started planning for our wedding in April. Since then, I started to create spreadsheets to categorize everything and we found ourselves talking more about our budget, long-term and short-term financial goals that we want to achieve together and separately.

For today’s post, I want to share 5 ways we have been saving money as a couple:

  1. Set common goals that we both can work towards. Right now that is our wedding and saving toward a downpayment on our future house.
  2. We automate transfers to our savings accounts so we have no excuse to forget. It also helps to schedule on payday.
  3. Cancel unnecessary and duplicate subscriptions
  4. We have monthly or weekly money dates to review our goals and budget
  5. We try to plan dates that don’t require us to spend money. It’s all about balance.

What tips have used in your relationship? Let me know below!

Yours Truly,

Yinka
