VISIT PHILLY

Last month, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the amazing team at Visit Philly for a fun weekend exploring downtown Philadelphia and it’s hidden treasures! I joined other bloggers and influencers from other parts of the country on this weekend get away and we stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar. You can read my review of the hotel here.

We started our Thursday evening with drinks at Maison 208. Located in Midtown Village, it’s a super cute bi-level French-influenced New American restaurant and cocktail lounge with a retractable roof for amazing views of the city. We then had dinner at Harp & Crown restaurant, a really cool New American restaurant with a bowling alley downstairs. Their food was really good, and the ambiance was great for our group.

On Friday, we visited a really cute historic town called Peddler’s Village. Located in Bucks County, this 42-acre retail village has over 60 shops, three restaurants, a 71-room hotel and a family entertainment center. There were also dozens of handmade scarecrows and other harvest decorations handmade by people in the community.

After touring the town and doing a little shopping, we had lunch at Earl’s New American. Not only did I fall in love with airy decor of the place but the food was so delicious.

After lunch we headed to Crossing Vineyards for wine tasting. Located on a 200-year-old estate house, this 17-year-old Bucks County vineyard can be found less than a mile from the spot where George Washington famously landed after crossing the Delaware River in 1776.

After touring the winery and wine tasting, we had free time to explore the city and relax before dinner at Blue Duck on Broad in Northeast Philly. It was so interesting to get to know more about the other bloggers and influencers on the trip and how they started their social media channels. After dinner we headed to Assembly rooftop lounge for drinks and good music.

On Saturday we started our day with breakfast at Parc, a classic Parisian bistro with a lovely view overlooking Rittenhouse Square. Next, we went to Shofuso Japanese House and Gardens. The Japanese House and Garden, is a traditional 17t h century-style Japanese house and garden built inspired by the Japanese exhibits in the Philadelphia’s 1876 Centennial Exposition, built in Japan in 1953, and installed in verdant West Fairmount Park in 1956. We then had an amazing lunch at Mission Taqueria and I ordered one of the best shrimp tacos to date! I appreciated the fresh food and insta-worthy ambiance of the restaurant.

After lunch I took time to explore the city and picked up some donuts from Federal Donuts, a cool shop selling Korean-style fried chicken, creative donuts & coffee.

We ended the evening with dinner at Root Restaurant + Wine Bar. A charming restaurant offering modern Italian, Spanish and American cuisine.

I honestly can’t wait to visit Philadelphia again and thank you again to the team at Visit Philly for organizing such an amazing experience. If you’ve been to Philly, what was the most memorable place you went to? Let me know below!
