5 EASY STEPS FOR THE PERFECT MANICURE

As most of us have been practicing social distancing by staying indoors, I’ve been focusing on things that help keep my stress levels down and relaxed in my spare time. The amazing team at Essie gifted me nail polish from their latest Expressie collection and you guys know how much I love giving myself a manicure!

I personally find solace and peace in the repetitive back and forth motion of the paintbrush when I’m painting my nails at home and this Essie collection features an angled brush for smooth application. Because of its quick-drying formula, there’s no top or base coat needed! Just patience and a steady hand.

You guys know I can’t resist a snow-white manicure, but if given other color choices, I automatically gravitate to pretty much any shade of nude or blush. In the Expressie collection, they offer a wide arrange of color options and I decided to use Crop Top & Roll for this manicure. I’ll be sharing 5 steps I used to achieve this perfect manicure at home!

Step 1: Clean your nails with polish remover. Run a cotton ball or paper towel of remover over each nail to get rid of any oils or dirt that could warp or cause your polish to bubble.

Step 2:  Clip nails first, if necessary. Then file gently, moving in one direction to get your tips square, round, or somewhere in between. Clip, file, and buff.

Step 3: Prep cuticles with cuticle remover—make sure it’s not an oil or a balm—to help dissolve dead skin and soften the area, making it easier to push back your cuticles.

Step 4: Apply a coat of your color of choice, starting with the middle of your nail. Be sure to get the brush all the way down to the cuticle and into the corners of your nail. I like to visually split my nail into 3 sections when painting. Maximum coverage on the first coat makes the second coat simple, but just keep the layer thin.

Step 5: Clean up any mistakes or polish that might have got on your skin. You can wrap a piece of cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover around the end of your cuticle stick or even a nail polish remover pen and carefully trace around your nails.

There you have it! An amazing manicure at home, that dries fast and has an amazing natural shine. I love how easy their wide angled brush made it apply the polish and the coverage I got with only 2 coats of polish.

Stay safe guy.
