5 WAYS TO DRIVE MORE TRAFFIC TO YOUR BLOG

Be Strategic

They say that content is king! One of the best things you can do is simply create better content. Start working on creating more evergreen content that can stay relevant for months or years to come. But creating “better content” isn’t only about quality, but it also means being more strategic and timely with your content marketing efforts. Keep in mind when you post, the visuals you use and what platforms you decide to share your posts.

Start a Newsletter
Anyone who truly sees your content as valuable will sign up for your newsletter, which is an excellent way to send out notifications for new posts. I’ve been told over and over again that your mailing list is one of your best assets – and those who sign up are your most valuable readers. If all social media sites were to crash tomorrow, you know that you would still be able to community with your audience. Set yourself up for success now and start building that list.

Sponsor, Speak or Organize an event

When it comes to growing your blog traffic, it is natural to look at online promotion methods. However, promoting your blog in person can be quite effective, especially if you are speaking to a large audience or audiences who find your content valuable. It’s easy to forget that you can market and promote your blog offline. Events are an excellent place to get the word out about your blog and network. Most event planners offer their speakers great publicity and will either offer you free admission to their conference or may even pay you a small speaking fee. I think it’s an effective and inexpensive marketing channel. Remember to always have your business cards on hand!

Traffic Referral Sources
Traffic referral sources are other websites or platforms that encourage other people to visit your site. A few examples are YouTube, Bloglovin’, Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram. Make sure you keep the link to your latest post in your bio on all platforms. On Instagram be sure to utilize the swipe up feature if you have it and share new posts via your feed.

Collaborate
I’m working on this myself, but consistent collaborations are a major part of growth! Don’t undervalue the power of collaborations with other influencers, bloggers, or entrepreneurs. This can mean partnering with your blogger friends to create a blog story than sharing it on both channels, shooting photos for your friends and having them link you in the credits or guest posting. When collaborating, you can also feature in interviews, shared Instagram Story Lives or podcasts. It doesn’t matter how big or small the audience is. I’ve learned that even the smallest wins can make the biggest impact when it comes to teamwork!

I don’t believe blogs are dead. You’d be surprised at how many people still read them!
